Umbral (Threshold) 2026

This monument honors the memory of healthcare workers who gave their lives to save those of millions of people in Colombia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The structure of this work is derived from the symbol of the Red Cross, a universal emblem of the protection of life and the care provided by healthcare personnel. The bars that support the stone block—weighing more than three tons—are engraved with the names of individuals who lost their lives while responding to the pandemic in Colombia. Their names are inscribed here as a gesture of gratitude and as an act of resistance against forgetting, in recognition of their sacrifice.
